Info (EN)

Welcome at factor24.com and have a look at the nostalgic world of beautiful classic cars from times gone by, put into extremely detailed, authentic miniature workshops.

Please allow me to show you around.
I suggest we start in front of the Showroom to see what's there. All objects shown have a short description of their history. When you want to take a closer look, step into the SHOWROOM, click a picture and watch it's large size equivalent. As often as you like...
When you have generic question, odds are that it will be answered in the FAQ list. More technical questions, such as scales used, box dimensions, power transformers, lamps, glas and more, are answered on the Details page.
Maybe, while looking around, enthusiasm has grown and you got the feeling "I must have something like that". Well, that's possible, allbeit not always. Most of the objects shown have been sold. But what's still available and what is being made right now is listed. And what's not there can be manufactured, takes some time but you're guaranteed to get something unique. All details to be arranged for in personal contact, how it works is displayed on the Ordering page.
And, last but not least, at some point payment must be made: information on that is available in theordering paragraph.
Shipping all over the world.
I would suggest to enter the SHOWROOM now... Have fun!
regards Hans Brooymans

Details

Every workshop is unique, entirely made by human hand, signed and numbered and will be delivered with a Certificate of authenticity.

It's "production" is carried out by a real amateur and every piece is unique. It's equipment is complete, extremely detailed, perfectly to scale, in style and authentic. The box usually consists of printed blockboard. Interior illumination with a built-in transformer comes standard. A miniature workshop can be made entirely up to your own wish. The automobiles shown (and motorcycles or tractors occasionally) are classic or vintage. Some are ready-to-use models or so-called kits, of metal (die cast) or plastic, and they're all worked on to enhance reality. Typical scale is 1:12 and 1:25. Special designs are possible, usually.

The external dimensions of a box (sizes in inch, +/- 1/4 inch) Normal
Scale                Width           Height           Depth

Normal build, options
Usually the box of the miniature workshop is made of printed blockboard. You can choose the type of wood. A box made of lacquered or stained blockboard, or real wood, will cost extra.
For the interior illumination (ceiling lamps, work bench lamps etc.) a 6 or 12 Volts power transformer with an on/off switch is built in. The capacity depends on the needed power and is usually 500 or 800 mA. Primary voltage is 230 Volt (can be adapted to your country's voltage). Normally the used mini-bulbs are replaceble bulbs. For extra long-life lighting LEDs are recommendable.
For special purposes such as some provisioning is required, e.g. transformers with a higher secundary voltage and/or DC-adapters).
The front side of the box is usually closed by a 4 millimeter acryl layer (plexi glass). Real glass will cost extra.

Costs
The price of a complete, typical miniature workshop depends on all specifications mentioned. For reserved miniature workshops and for those that are a special order, a pre-payment of 10 percent is requested. (Unless the customer provides the scale-model, then a pre-payment is not required.)
Just let me know what you want and I'll let you know the exact price and delivery time!

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long does it take to build a diorama?
It depends on how the interior should look like. Typically it takes about 200 hours, with an additional 30 hours when kit model cars must be put together and sprayed. Building a "normal" garage takes about 6 weeks.

2. Do you have role models?
I work using my own insights and fantasy, this is a guarantee for many variations... I look around and find inspiration everywhere. Also, when a customers has preferences I try to comply to them.

3. Do you build the model cars too?
No, I buy them as a ready-to-use car or as a kit, which usually must be adapted somehow to get a dynamic view. But they're always classic and vintage cars, sometimes motorcycles too.

4. How do you get all those little things such as tools, oil canisters...?
Unfortunately there's almost not a single thing ready-to-use on the market and I have to build every piece myself.

5. How do you get the old logos, pictures and other images?
I only want to create authentic dioramas which are correct in every way. Therefore I'm always searching for contemporary logos, try to get access to company's archives, use the internet, shoot pictures on important oldtimes expositions and fairs (e.g. the TechnoClassica in Essen, Germany) which are made to scale using the computer's imaging techniques.

6. Does someone help you?
No, I prefer to keep everything in perfect control myself.

7. You've always been in the automobile business?
No, I am an industrial engineer and have worked in a machine factory and foundry where gas-engines and diesel engines for ships were manufactured, and was responsible for calculation and preparation of engines and engine parts.

8. How did you get "the idea"?
I was always fond of classic cars, owned an Alfa 1600 Bertone myself, and like to visit events such as the Nürburgring's Oldtimer Grand Prix. There I saw a simple workshop once and thought: "You can do that too but then much better". And so it all started back in 1994.

9. Do you only create these miniature workshops?
I've also built models of classic sailing-vessels (such as the magnificient Danish school-vessel "Danmark" (for sale !) - still exposed in the maritim museum at Delfzijl - for pictures and description see "Specials" -  and the legendary "Bounty"). Later on I built sailing-vessels in bottles and some other maritime objects. But since 1994 I only build workshops, although some other special requests were made such as a shipyard and an insurance office building.

10. Who is buying these dioramas?
- People who have a special feeling about a particular car.
- Ladies who are searching for a special gift to their spouse.
- (Car) companies to honor an employee (or the other way around)
- (Car) companies as an eye-catcher in their showroom or window.
